13 year old boy fathers a baby.

says it all in the title.

The Sun delivered this news to us this morning

ARTICLE

Now, I respect the Sun for the excellent way that they communicate with their target readership, no other paper manages to whip up a frenzy of supportive people with the papers one sided reoprting quite like them.

However, I can’t quite get what they want from us here. Is is crazed ‘teenagers are evil’ reporting, Awwww that’s so sweet it’s amazing how this BRITISH boy manages to carry on reporting or is it a freak show.

The way the story is presented half the time I think it seems like they love this little boy and it’s his story - I can’t help thinking that this is because the mother isn’t what you’d call ‘attractive’.

Nothing is being said about the legality of this, the fact that both families went along - in fact there is little content to the story other than the parents are young and unprepared.

Even odder is the fact that LIFE are given column inches to say…

Last night Michaela Aston, of the anti-abortion Christian charity LIFE, said: “We commend these teenagers for their courage in bringing their child into the world.

“At the same time this is symptomatic of the over-sexualisation of our youngsters and shows the policy of value-free sex education just isn’t working.”

Both supporting and damning, sad that the truth is the boy said he ‘Didn’t know what he was doing’ so the debunking of value free sex ed (what does that even mean)  is kind of redundant.

The truth of this story is that there isn’t enough frank and simple sex education dealing with more than the scientific factors of the act. We’re far too british about the whole situation and we need to let professionals do their jobs to treat children with respect and allow them to grow up with all of the knowledge they need to survive as, in this case especially, they really aren’t getting it from their parents.

What do you think? let us know!

oh and when you read the article do take a look at JANE MOORE’s ridiculous rantings about the ‘Highly Expensive Sex Education Programme’ the boy doesn’t even know what Finatially means so I don’t think it’s the govenrnment’s fault - it’s yours Jane Moore for not allowing people who know better than you fix the issue.
